Hello! Welcome to Birdhouse Games, where we make resources and small games about the smaller things in life. We love tabletop games, and we try to write things so that people can explore them in a new way with different tools, whether that be poisons, new gods, love interests, or weird swords that try to be your dad.
All of the work—writing, editing, layout, and design—is done in-house. E-mail me at lwilsonohio@gmail.com if you'd like us to create something for you.
Poison for Beginners is a system-agnostic guide to poisoning, perfect for the many fantasy games where poison only exists as a bottle of purplish liquid marked with a skull-and-crossbones. It contains twenty poisons over its 26 pages, with rules for collecting, processing, and buying or selling poison.
The Hunt and the Hunted is a solo, horror journaling RPG where you slowly illuminate the demon that's been stalking you, creating a world and a protagonist in the process.
First Date with a Demon is a sister game to The Hunt and the Hunted, and is a solo horror lyric game about getting to date your demon.
Chaotic Oaths for Paladins is a collection of three paladin oaths for D&D 5E. They are the Oath of the Good Traitor, the Oath of the Ambling Rose, and the Oath of the Even Hand, each one exploring a new niche of devotion, justice, and violence.
The Warlock is much the same—it's a playbook for Dungeon World that lets you play one of the classic fantasy classes in a way that focuses on the narrow but limitless power granted to you by your patron.
Ichor Roil is an index-card sized game where you enter the Bleakness, a ruined plane of dead temples and monuments, to reclaim stolen treasure from greedy and fallen gods. It's also an inside joke that has been laid up for months now, waiting for Anna to say the magic words.
Also on the release schedule is Catalogue of New Gods, a game-resource of twenty new and strange deities that make Thor and Zeus look like pale imitations of themselves. In it, you track your journey from humble acolyte to learned sage, and the challenges and questions along the way.
Beyond that, the future is a bit murky, though there are several sizable adventures lying in the draft pile.
